The Joys of Being A Mom

So last night sweet Kate woke up at 1am with a fever and stopped up/runny nose. As much as I love to sleep and hate to get up in the middle of the night, I so enjoyed her last night. I hated she wasn't feeling well, but the pure joy that comes from the fact that your child is comforted by her mother's arms is so great. She was the sweetest thing. She stopped crying as soon as I got her and we rocked and loved on one another for the next 3 or 4 hours. She tried to say all the words she knows to me, which of course are only like mama, dada, baby, night night and she also tried to do a pitiful "give me more love cry"(which really wasn't a cry at all, just a noise to make her sound like there was no way mommy could put her back to bed, she still needed me!) Well, it worked. In to the night we got to know each other even more than we already do. I did take her to the Dr. this morning and she does have an ear infection. Despite the ear infection, I do thank God for sweet moments with my precious little ones even if they occur when I should be sleeping.

Since we are on Kate and her health, many of you wanted updates as to how she is doing. She is offically off the monitor! Praise the Lord! Her sleep study and barium swallow went well. She was such a trooper for both. I have posted a picture on here of her at the sleep study. It was kinda sad and kinda funny all at the same time. I was just so impressed by her though. I know it sounds weird to be impressed by a 9 month old, but she did great and allowed the nurse to do all she needed to do to get her ready for the night. Anyways, since birth, she has been looked at inside and out with all kinds of test and all have come back great. All I can say is she is a product of her daddy, they like to have weird unexplainable things go on with them, just to keep the people around them on their toes. You gotta love them though. I guess from this whole 10 month experience with Kate, the Kitchell family is just thankful for the lesson God has taught us through it. He is faithful and He is in control and what a blessing it is to know those things and trust in them. So thank you God for our sweet Kate and for the blessing she has been and will be to us in so many ways.

As for Catch, this was his first week of 3K. He goes MWF, 9-12. He does great and loves it. He thinks everyone is his friend even if he doesn't know them(except of course his own imaginery friend which he does not like, haha, again, I am claiming it is because he is a product of his daddy). We ride into school everyday and when he sees the school, he tells me to roll his window down and turn on the song "We will we will Rock You" because he says he wants his school to hear him coming. Hilarious and a little embarrassing when people turn and look at your car because that song is rocking loud with windows down. Anyways, it brings him joy to sing it to the top of his lungs and he is so proud of himself for knowing all the words, so I just have to get over what people may think of us. He is such a funny kid. Again a blessing from God he is.

These are Kate's sleep study pics. She was her happy curious self in the beginning and it got a little iffy for her, a little upsetting, but by the end when they had wrapped her up, she was good to go again. Sweet thing!

My First Blog

Hello, hello. So, I have decided to do a blog. There are several reasons for it. One reason is I am terrible at scrapbooking(I guess I can't even say terrible, I just plain don't do it!) Blogging, I am hoping, will be a good way for me to keep up with some memories for myself and my children. Another reason is all of my family and a lot of my close friends live out of town. I want everyone to be included in our simple life but sometimes in the midst of busyness, I forget to share with those I love the most what is going on here in our lives. Here's the thing though, I am not a writer(I was a business major, no writing necessary there), so just hang in there with me. I will try my best to keep you interested! : ) Anyways, here I go, off to find things to write about these two precious children.
